VA Secretary Robert Wilkie to host ‘State of VA Community Town Hall’ online September 27

Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert Wilkie will host his first State of VA Community Town hall on Sept. 27  1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET. The secretary and eight guest panelists will highlight the activity and direction of VA since his appointment to lead the department in July.

Veterans Legacy Program: Cpl. Earl LaPan, South Florida artist and World War II Veteran

Cpl. Earl LaPan, a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran, created hundreds of works of art displayed across South Florida.  He became an accomplished artist early in life, beginning his career in New Jersey before moving to Florida in 1933.  His paintings filled hotels in Miami and other areas of South Florida; many of them are still on display today.

VA secretary: ‘Las Vegas is where we see what VA will become

Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert L. Wilkie, visited the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System Sept. 20 to meet with hospital administrators, speak with Veterans and employees, and talk about the way forward for the VA.

This week we honor Army Veteran Arch J. Lewis Jr.

Arch served as a paratrooper during World War II. In 1942, Arch was drafted into the Army. At the end of his basic training, paratroopers recruited Arch.
