[Video] Non-profit group connects Veterans with companion dogs

Soldier’s Best Friend is an Arizona based non-profit that connects Veterans suffering from combat injuries, such as PTSD and TBI with therapeutic companion dogs.  The group will work with any Veteran that has been diagnosed with PTSD or TBI  living in Arizona, or who is willing to relocate as training is available for Veterans offered in Phoenix, Tucson, Flagstaff, Prescott and Sierra Vista. This training usually takes about six to nine months to complete.

Army Veteran finds triathlon racing brings joy, emotional boost during tough times

Courage and ambition have never been in short supply for Army Veteran Indira Glennon. As a young child she dreamed of joining the service and becoming a pilot. As a stay-at-home mom with five children, she walked into a specialty store for triathlon racing and signed up for her first race—with no prior experience and without owning a bike.

Veteran pushes through past experiences in effort to save an injured cyclist’s life

For VA employee and Veteran Eric Detrick, the day began as a brisk Sunday under sunny blue skies – the perfect day for a 100-mile bike ride through California’s Coachella Valley known as the Tour de Palm Springs.

However, around mile 30, events took a turn that would leave Detrick emotionally shaken.
