WWII Veteran’s story published nearly 60 years after his
death
My American Odyssey is based on a short story
that my grandfather, Donald Byers, wrote about his stateside basic training
several years after his discharge from the United States Army.
Memorial

Designed
to promote forward-thinking dialogue and innovative collaboration among

around the issue of brain health, the VA hosted its second annual Brain Trust: Pathways to InnoVAtion
summit, which kicked off Wednesday at Harvard University.
Rod served in the Navy from 1954 to 1958 as
a hospital corpsman, second class. He was hand-picked as the leading
psychiatric technician for a pioneer program at the Yokosuka Naval Hospital
in Japan.
