After reading a blog post about Medal of
Honor recipient Joseph B. Noil’s mismarked headstone that had gone
undetected for nearly 129 years, VAntage Point reader and trained
historian Will Carpenter located the relatives of the forgotten hero.
The journal Psychiatric Services has published a report showing that the
quality of mental health care provided by VA is superior to that provided
to a comparable population in the private sector.
Eric
Fife acknowledges he was angry and resentful when an accidental fall from
a balcony left him paralyzed, and ended his career as an Army infantryman.
Today, Fife competes in triathlons, plays lacrosse and wheelchair tennis.
He says adaptive sports have helped him redefine his service and
rehabilitate his mind and body.

week we honor William “Bill” Andrews. Bill served the
United States Air Force from 1980-2010 as an F-16 pilot and one of the most decorated Airmen of the Gulf War. Bill
flew combat missions during Desert Storm and Afghanistan before he moved
to the Pentagon to join the Joint Staff.
