Veteran completes Army career thanks to rehab at Tampa VA

With the help of the Tampa’s rehabilitation and therapy programs, the soldier recovered from his injuries enough that he was able to remain in the Army and complete 16 more years as a military intelligence specialist, including two deployments to Iraq, a stint as an instructor and going back on jump status as a paratrooper, before retiring in 2012.

This week we honor Marine Corps Veteran Melanie Silva. Melanie served in Operation Iraqi Freedom from August 2005 to March 2006.

Originally from Laguna, New Mexico, Melanie comes from a military family. Her father served in the Marine Corps for more than 25 years.
